The Days After
“3 in 10 women have experienced at least one sexual assault in their life.”
That sentence resonated in my head for a long time after our conversation with Solène. Claire, 20 years old, Émilie, 19 and Solène, 24, are all my friends and yet they never told me these stories. When I sent out a call for traumatic situations testimonies on social networks, I have been struck by their answers, each telling the sexual violence they had suffered. Driven by the desire to help me in my project, they found the courage to plunge back into it, letting slip a part of their intimacy. Today they bear the imprint of these childhood or adolescence episodes and they make it a strength, which they stage here. Our exchanges and shots in significant places of their reconstruction are a way to recover from this past.
